Traditionally furnished but clean comfortable and fully functional rooms, lovely views of the castle. Dinner good, not exceptional but breakfast excellent.
Above all for this hotel, and of the highest standard was the friendly, helpful nature of all the staff . They are a great credit to the hotel and work very hard to please.
Disliked nothing

Decided to stay in Windsor rather than the airport where I've stayed for the past 15 years on trips back and forth to the USA. It's not my first time at the hotel but it is my first overnighting. The location IMHO is the best there is in Windsor. Right opposite the castle gates and step outside to see the Changing of the Guard. It's quite a spectacle for anyone who hasn't seen it. Turn left out of the hotel and walk down the hill. Plenty of pubs, etc or cross the Thames and walk over to Eton. If you turn right and walk to the "Long Walk". It's a perfect walking city and the perfect location.
Rooms are average and adequate. If you're fortunate enough to be in the front of the hotel, you'll love it. Great views!. The rooms at the back of the house, not so much and they can be a hike if you have luggage but I guess that's what you get for staying in a old building. The staff have been ok. You always seem to be waiting at reception for something. food at the hotel while trying to be nice lacks flavor. I never understand in a place like this that they don't offer traditional fare at a reasonable price. I'm sure some people like it but it's not for me so have to leave each time I'm there. Again, location is the best!

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel really welcome. The rooms overlooking the castle had an amazing view.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and tidy. The breakfast was of good size and I enjoyed the evening meal. It was fun to look at the castle walls while eating. Great to be in the heart of Windsor and not far from the park.

Me and my wife we spent this last New Year's eve here, it was amazing,a night to remember. the atmosphere was so timeless, great dance music and a gorgeous dinner.
The previous menu wich I've booked for,it was changed only a few hours before the dinner and I had to sort our dinner menu right there.

Staff we very friendly and helpful. Hotel area very clean. Good
I stayed in a double room , sadly to say this was vey dark and very claustrophobic even with the curtains open there was not a lot of light coming into the room and the view was of roof tops and a big bricked pillar! .

Friendly staff. Great room with a view. Very clean with lovely furniture and bedding. Well decorated and comfortable bed. I would definitely recommend a stay in this hotel. Conveniently located right by Windsor Central and Eton Train Station. Taxi fare from outside the Hotel to Legoland was only £10.00.
There was nothing to dislike.

We liked just about everything about the hotel! Our family room was really nice and overlooking the castle which my 6 year old and 2 year old thought was fantastic. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location is spot on. The hotel was very child friendly, but I also look forward to returning with group of friends for a girlie weekend. We had a great time! Well done Harte and Garter!!
Only one small thing, we stayed on a Saturday night and it was quite noisy, however, this did not ruin or impair our visit - or keep our children awake!
